Fall Ball!

Emily started playing T-Ball this month. She is learning a lot and loves playing on a team!

Loving on Avery

We have all been enjoying our time with our sweet baby Avery. She is such a good baby and is almost never fussy. She loves her big sister, and big sister loves her too. Life is good! 

Avery is here!

Avery Elizabeth Jomaa joined our family on August 18, 2014 at 8:37 pm. She weighed 7 pound 15 ounces. 

The labor experience was pretty close to what we experienced with Emily. My due date came and went, and we had to go in to be induced. Fouad and I checked into the hospital Sunday night and I was given drugs to prepare to be induced the following morning. After a long day of labor, and a few scary moments where Avery's heart rate kept dropping between contractions, our beautiful little girl was born face up at 8:37 pm. 

We couldn't wait to get Emily over to visit, and everyone decided to visit the following morning so we could have some time to recover and spend with Avery. 

Emily was in love! She adores being a big sister and we are so happy watching her with Avery. Everything is great in the Jomaa house!

We made it home on Wednesday and have been enjoying life as a family of four!

First Week of Pre-K!

Emily was SO excited to start Pre-K at her school this week! She is still at the same school, so the transition was not too hard. We have had a hard time adjusting to the early drop off (which means waking up earlier), but she LOVES getting dropped off in the carpool line like a big girl. Mommy cried the first day...watching our big girl run in with her teacher and her big backpack was just too much! Emily didn't even look back!

So far she is learning a lot! Every day she comes home singing new songs and telling us all about her day. We are thrilled she is having such a good time!

We have also been anxiously awaiting the arrival of Avery this week. If she doesn't come on her own, she will be here for sure on Monday! We are counting down the days!

Spring/Summer Fun!

Just like everyone else I know, we've had a super busy summer! Here's a little catch-up on the Jomaa family. Buckle up...this is a long blog entry:

March

We did a baby cake gender reveal with our family to find out the gender of baby #2. We found out that we will be having a baby GIRL in August!

We could hardly wait to cut into this cake!!!

April

Andy and Kayla got married on April 1st on the Disney Dream - which meant that we got to enjoy a little cruise vacation at the same time! Emily was in the wedding and did an awesome job as the flower girl! Here are some pictures from the wedding week:

Emily also had her first visit to the dentist (long overdue...) and her teeth look great! We started on little sister Avery's room as well!

We celebrated a very special Mother's Day and Emily had her BIG ballet recital! She and her classmates did a wonderful job!

June

Fouad took me to Savannah for a little babymoon/birthday weekend and it was wonderful! Emily felt Avery kick in my belly for the first time this month - it was so exciting for everyone! We celebrated Fouad on Father's day and Emily got to enjoy "Frozen" ballet camp! We also took some maternity pictures with our friend Holly and they turned out great!

July

We've been enjoying our last few weeks as a family of three! Our new baby sister will be here in just a couple of weeks (if she is on time)! We celebrated the 4th of July with Dutch Monkey's doughnut eating contest and a Gwinnett Braves game - complete with fireworks! Our big girl has been anxiously awaiting her sister's arrival, but she was SO excited to celebrate her birthday at the local splash pad with a special guest - princess Ariel!

Whew! What a spring and summer we have had! Now we are counting down the days until Avery gets here. We can't wait!
