5 Months :-)

Emily is five months old! We've been busy celebrating the holidays, but we took some time to do our monthly photo shoot today:

As you can see, Em has become pretty flexible and LOVES to grab her feet! She's even been caught quite a few times putting them in her mouth lately. They are a great source of entertainment. Other firsts and favorite moments for the month:

* First time meeting Santa!
* First Thanksgiving...too bad Emily didn't get to enjoy any of the food. Next year!
* Girls nights with Aunt Nadine (aka the best babysitter)...she's always on her best behavior for Aunt Nay Nay :-)
* Lots of shopping with mom to get ready for Christmas. Target is by far her favorite place to browse.
* Emily has started trying to crawl...probably next month or so.

Also, this surprising little trick that I caught her doing on the webcam at daycare. I couldn't believe she was HOLDING HER OWN BOTTLE! They said she had been doing it for several days...so we came home and tried it. She was a pro!

I don't need you guys to feed me anymore!

Solid Food!

We started solid food (rice cereal) this week! Check out the videos of Emily's first try and her thoughts on solid food on the third try!

MOMS Club Christmas

Emily and I have been part of the MOMS Club now for a few months, and we're having a great time meeting everyone and attending the events during the week. We've done lots of fun things like a tour of the Fire Station, a tour of our local Publix, and just making new friends! I've especially enjoyed the "Mom's Night Out" events where the moms get together to hang out without the kids.

Over the weekend the MOMS Club had a Christmas party and it was a blast! Santa even stopped by with gifts for all the kids, but poor little Em had fallen asleep!

Fast asleep...

Of course...wide awake as soon as we get home!

Jumpin Jumpin

Emily has really started to enjoy her Jumperoo! Enjoy this video of her bouncing around:

*Fouad wanted me to add that I am not moving or bouncing the Jumperoo at all, this was all Emily!

Party Animal

We have great next-door neighbors - the Browns. Their daughter Sienna is only a few weeks older than Emily. Their other daughter Mia celebrated her 3rd birthday this weekend and Emily was invited to celebrate! She had a great time at her first friend's birthday party :-)

Enjoying all the fun toys

I liked my sunglasses!

Singing Happy Birthday to Mia

Sleeping after all the fun!

Tacky Christmas Party

The Jason's Deli Christmas Party had a tacky sweater theme this year. Of course, Fouad and I went all out. We found two great sweaters at the Goodwill:

My awesome cowboy Santa and the Christmas cactus

Fouad's beautiful ornament sweater vest

At the party!

Can you believe that we didn't win tackiest couple? There were sweaters/outfits that were TACKIER than that! We had a great time with everyone :-)

Dutch Monkey Date

We met our friends Heidi, Ronnie, and baby Cela at Dutch Monkey Doughnuts a few weekends ago for a little playdate. Heidi had been hearing me rave about Dutch Monkey for months, so she had to make her way up to our neck of the woods to try it. Hopefully, she wasn't disappointed! Here's a cute picture of Emily and Cela checking each other out:

Aren't they cute?

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

We met up with Anne and Matt today to see Santa! Emily did a great job - she was so happy! Santa must have told her she was on the nice list :-) Here's her very first photo with the big guy:

Here's what it takes to get a smile for Santa:
