Emily celebrated her eighth month on Friday shopping and dining outside with our good friend Dawn and enjoyed every minute of the beautiful spring weather. We also did Emily's monthly photo shoot, which brings up a good question:
Q: How do you get an eight month old to sit still for a photo shoot?
A: You don't...
This was actually a lot of fun! She's so interested in everything around her, and she LOVES the blocks! Other things that Emily has done this month:
* She got her first two teeth! Not so fun for her, but she looks adorable with her new grin!
* Emily now eats crackers, Cheerios, and other easy-to-eat finger foods. She's also tried lots of ice cream, hummus, and other semi-solid "adult" food.
* We're still working on crawling, and she has started to try to pull to stand up. We're waiting to see which she does first!
* Emily sleeps with a blanket and the stuffed bunny in the picture above. Before now, we didn't have anything else in her crib.
* She is able to sit up without assistance from the boppy or us, and we've even walked in on her in her crib where she has pulled to sit up on her own.
* She now sits in her stroller without her car seat, and sits in a highchair when we go out to eat. Her feet are almost at the end of her car seat now!
*She's become quite a little chatterbox lately. No "mama" or "dada" yet, but she has been repeating the "ba" sound. Probably just wants her bottle ;-)
*She's started to play with the dogs more. Callie will bring her a toy, and Emily will hold onto it while Callie tugs...she thinks this is hilarious!
*Emily gets attention wherever she goes! She is so happy and is always giving lots of smiles to whoever we see.
